Im Baaaaack! I'm very proud to say that next week will mark 1 YEAR since I had my last perm!! I only have about 2 inches left of permed hair left. I don't leave it curly all the time because my fro looks like a willow tree due to my permed ends so i blow it out. As much as I dont want to use heat; i have to since I am usually going on interviews. I now wash my hair twice a week. While in the shower I use Silicon Mix Bambu Nutritive Hair Treatment once a week, I leave it on for 3 minutes in the shower then wash it out. I apply my Cantu shea butter leave in conditioner still but not as much as I use too, then I seal in the moisture with coconut oil. After it dries up I apply Ojon - Damage Reverse Instant Restorative hair serum (Sephora has it also) and then spray a bit of John Freida Heat Defeat and blow it out. After its blown out and i flat iron it. I will soon go and have my ends cut i just want my hair to grow a little longer before i shorten my hair again. Here are some some recent pics!
How much my hair has grown

A big part of loving your natural hair is knowing how to care for it, so CurlyNikki.com has complied a list of ten natural beauty tips for happy and healthy hair. (1) Binding wet hair into a tight pony is a curly hair care no-no, and can cause split ends. Instead, slick wet hair back with conditioner and a little oil or gel. (2) Avocado butter is quite effective in stretching curly hair. When hair is twisted or braided with the butter, it will generally have much less shrinkage than without it. (3) Twist on wet hair and allow ample time for hair to completely dry. Untwisting when your hair is damp will inevitably give you the frizzies. (4) Deep condition regularly as hair behaves best when it's nice and moisturized. DC every week for softer, more manageable hair. (5) Co-wash or shampoo with sulfate, silicone and alcohol FREE products. When it comes to all your product try to keep it all natural. (6) Don't EVER skip your Hair Conditioner. Opt for all natural conditioners and not just the ones that say all natural but read the ingredients. (7) NEVER towel dry your hair. This only causes frizzness especially if youre using a terry cloth towel. Drip dry, t-shirt dry or use a microfiber towel. (8) It is imperative that you cover your hair while you sleep with a satin scarf or bonnet or invest in a satin pillowcase. This will not pull at the hair or absorb the moisture in the hair. (9) Grab a spray bottle, fill it half way with water and add three tablespoons of olive oil. Shake well and use daily to add moisture to the hair. Spray liberally. (10) The human head sheds on average 50-100 hairs each day. Detangling will help you get these hairs out and prevent tangles from reforming.
For the past 2 months I have been taking pills to help my hair grow out faster and longer. It's called Hairfinity. I was researching online for vitamins to help me grow my hair a little faster because it seemed like it wasn't growing as much when i came unto the Harfinity website. Too see if its for real i researched it up and I saw many good reviews even Youtube videos of peoples testimonials. EVERYONE LOVES IT!!! Youtube it! So I bought two bottles to try it out. One bottle is $24.00, a 2 month supply is $42.00, 4 months supply is $84.00 and etc.. I took 2 pills as directed either every morning/night ( Whenever i remembered that day). I was amazed how fast my hair grew!! I cut my hair an inch above shoulder and then in about 5 to 6 weeks its a bit past my shoulders. Unfortunately i do not have pictures of this because i wasn't thinking of writing a blog on my hair journey. But i will be posting up videos that helped me decide to buy this product. After a months use i kept forgetting to take the pills and i just decided to stop for a while and see if i can grow out my as fast as that without taking pills. Also while taking the pills it is very important to care for your hair.DO NOT forget to take care of your hair please. Never had any side effects but everyone is different.

I feel that taking these vitamins boosted my hair growth after the years of damage i been doing to my hair. Now my hair grows a bit faster which im happy about. I have to go for my next trim soon, cant wait to see how much ill be cutting off. Actually lately i been feeling like doing the big chop... lol Till then!
So I had this job interview to go to and I needed to somehow make my hair presentable! I been doing a lot of research online and found Natural-laxers. Natural-laxers are like relaxers but no chemicals just natural herbal ingredients. I decided to order Diva Smooth by Janelle Beauty since it has so much great ratings. Your able to put it on at home yourself if your lazy take it to your hair stylist and it last about 4 weeks. I followed a video on Youtube.com, I'll post it up when i get the OK. Just like how relaxers are applied, you do the same with Diva Smooth. Its sticky like honey and it will drip down your neck and face but its fine. It wont do anything to your skin since its all natural herbal ingredients. I left it on for 45 minutes with a plastic cap and a cloth around the edges to prevent it from dripping, shampooed and conditioned my hair then put on a 3 minute treatment and washed it out. My hair was still curly the curls a bit relaxed, no major difference.I blew it out till i had a fro, put a bit of the coconut oil that comes with Diva Smooth (or if you have at home use that too) passed the flat iron and it came out looking GREAT! The coconut oil adds shine to it. Now remember my hair being blown out with no relaxer when i was young?
THIS DARN PICTURE ~_~
I haven't had any issues with the roots poofing out as much on hot days. Now i know its harsh to use heat on your hair but i only use it when i need to such as for job interviews or events. Other than that i walk around looking like i got electrocuted, or like a troll doll lol at home of course. I can still curl my hair as usual. You can leave this on for about 45 minutes to an hour or longer depending how straight you want it. I left it on for about 45 minutes.
I DID IT MYSELF, IT CAME OUT LIKE THIS! =)
I have about 3 inches of relaxed hair on me and every month I get it trimmed. My hair grows a little faster since i been taking care of it. I trimmed it the day I got the Dominican blow out.
That's all for tonight! Feel free to contact me if any questions. =)
I'm on a mission to grow out my relaxed hair without the big chop and i been going through products to see what works for me for the past 6 months and finally found what works for my hair! I wash my hair every 2 to 3 days because after I curl up my hair, on day 3 it's already tangled and not looking good. So to wash I useTRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture shampoo and conditioner because dry hair needs moisture. You can find it in pharmacy and beauty supply stores. This product has no alcohol and is lower in sulfates. I shampoo and do a protein treatment such as Hair Mayonnaise by Organic Root Stimulator once a week another treatment i like to switch to isMirta de perales Oil treatmentwith silk protein. My mom use to use it on my hair when i was little. On other days I just co-wash my hair meaning wash with conditioner. I do this to avoid any damage to my hair from frequent shampooing. I like to switch products sometimes so I use Organic shampoo and conditioners such as Millcreek Organic Shampoo and Conditioner. *Remember to detangle your hair in the shower!
After the shower, I divide my hair into four sections and apply Shea Butter Leave-in Conditioning Repair Cream by Cantu comb it through. You can apply to wet or dry hair I like to apply it when my hair is wet and you really don't have to apply it the way I do but I like to make sure all my hair gets the leave in conditioner. After that i use TRESemme Curl Hydration This product does have alcohol in it but it works really good on my hair because it helps curl up my relaxed ends so it can match with the rest of my natural curls. Then to prevent frizziness i put on John Frieda Frizz-Ease hair serum and it helps sooo much!
On days where I just want to put my hair up in a bun. I spray my hair with some conditioner mixed with water using a plastic spray bottle (Those are good to have) and to calm down my frizz in the front i use Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel. This is the best if you have to use gel. No alcohol but it holds your hair perfectly without damaging your hair.
That's my Weekly Hair Care Regime. Hope it's very helpful. If any questions or want to chat about products you’re using, feel free to hit me up! =)
